Root Canal Treatment is also known as endoodntic treatment or root filling.
It is important to save natural teeth where appropriate. When extensive damage or injury has involved the nerve and blood supply of a tooth, a root filling is an alternative to an extraction. Root filling a tooth means removing damaged or dead nerves, disinfecting the root canal system, and filling the space in the root that is left. It is now known that maintaining an excellent restoration above the root filling is essential and a filling or crown is then placed on top of the completed root filling.
