Denture Treatments
Get back control of your smile and improve teeth function with dentures.

Dentures are a removable solution to missing teeth. While they do require some care and maintenance, today’s prosthetics look and feel more natural than ever, and are carefully designed and fitted by our expert team to ensure they remain as stable as possible during everyday wear.

Why might you be considering dentures?

Missing teeth can make it difficult to chew certain foods, limiting what you can eat and restricting your lifestyle. Too many gaps in your mouth can also affect your speech, which is something that can have a significant impact on your confidence. Dentures can eliminate these issues. They perform virtually all the functions of natural teeth – and while they can take a little getting used to in the short term, the longer-term benefits of investing in dentures far outweigh any immediate concerns or initial discomfort.

Are dentures for you?

With so many other options available – including veneers, implants, and our Teeth in a Day service – dentures are not always the most suitable treatment for common dental problems.

However, dentures continue to deliver flexible and cost-effective results for many of our patients. They do not require surgery to fit, and they are easy to adjust if more teeth are lost in the future. They are also often the best choice for patients whose gums and jaws are particularly weak or unhealthy and who therefore will not be good candidates for more permanent fixtures.

Dentures are also appropriate for replacing the teeth temporarily while we find a longer-term solution to your dental issues. For example, if you have just had teeth removed, starting with dentures will allow your jaw enough time to heal before we consider dental implants.

What can you expect from your dentures?

If you are considering getting dentures, you must bear in mind that these products must be removed and cleaned regularly. They will need to be replaced every 3 to 6 years, depending on usage. You may wish to avoid eating certain hard or chewy foods while wearing your dentures, too, as doing so may cause them to slip or move in the mouth.

Will your dentures look natural?

It is possible to make dentures that mimic your natural teeth. Most patients also find that dentures can help them achieve a fuller, more youthful smile. Plus, with the advent of dental implants, they can be fitted so they don’t move around the mouth or fall out on their own. Our dentists can even include fillings or crowns on the denture teeth to make them look even more like your own.
